Abstract Chronic hepatitis B and C are the most important cause of chronicliver disease in Korea. The ultimate goals of antiviral treatment are to decrease mortality from liver disease and lengthen survival by preventing viral replication and alleviating hepatic inflammation and by preventing the progression of fibrosis, development of liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. 고령임신이 증가하는 추세이다. 나이가 많아질수록 임신과 출산에 따른 위험이 증가하기 때문에 결혼을 앞뒀거나 임신을 계획하고 있는 여성분들은 꼼꼼하게 산전검사를 받고 건강한 임신을 위한 준비를 해야 한다. B형 간염 항원 및 항체검사는 산전 검사 시에 함께 시행하도록 권고하고 있다. 임신 중 간기능 이상이 나타나는 경우는 약 10% 정도다. 임신 중에 간염에 걸리거나 이미 만성 간질환을 앓고 있는 경우 태아에게 감염되는 것은 물론이고 유산, 조산, 기형 등을 초래할 수 있다. 산모에게 간염이 있어도 자궁 속에 있는 태아에게는 거의 전염되지 않지만 분만 시에 B형간염 만성 보유자인 산모의 혈액 등 체액이 태아에게 묻어 감염되거나 신생아기에 모체와의 잦은 접촉으로 감염되는 경우가 많다. 출생 전 후 감염된 아기 중에는 드물게 심한 간염으로 사망에 이르는 경우도 있다. 산모의 B 형간염이 태아에게 감염될 확률은 B형간염 바이러스 상태에 따라 다르다. 임산부가 가지고 있는 바이러스가 전염력과 번식력이 왕성하면 태아에게 감염될 확률은 85~90% 정도, 만약 약하다면 10~15% 정도로 보고되고 있다. 그래서 최근에는 바이러스 농도가 높은 임산부는 임신 3분기에 항바이
